Santangel’s Review is dedicated to finding and analyzing undiscovered investors. It is the creator and organizer of the Santangel’s Investor Forum® and the Santangel’s Roundtable. From 2010 to 2012, it eponymously published original research on outstanding money managers who were not well known to the wider community of fund allocators.
Steven Friedman, CFA
Founder and President
Steven Friedman is the founder and president of Santangel’s Review. Prior to founding the company, he worked at a hedge fund in New York. He holds dual degrees from the Wharton School and the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
Ted Sirbaugh
Analyst
Ted Sirbaugh is an analyst with Santangel's Review, having joined in 2020. He graduated summa cum laude from Babson College, with a concentration in finance and economics. He previously interned for a golf course architect, and completed a senior thesis on golf course design as part of Babson's Honors Program.
Behind the Name
Luis de Santangel was the treasurer to the royal court of Spain in 1491, when Ferdinand and Isabella refused once again to finance the voyage of Christopher Columbus. Dejected, the then-unknown sailor was on his way to petition the King of France when a rider intercepted him with a message: Santangel had convinced the Spanish monarchs to change their minds. Santangel’s quiet role in what became one of history’s greatest investments is the inspiration for our name.
